Sold my 05 FX4
I've had my Ranger for sale for a couple months so we could replace it with a 4 door truck so we could travel with our 3 month old baby boy in a truck. I sold my 05 FX4 this week to a guy in OH. My wife & I drove to Asheville, NC to pickup a 2007 DC 4x4 TRD Off-Road in Asheville, NC last Saturday. It's a 1 owner truck and only had 3800 miles on it. We're very happy we made the 5 hour drive to get it. My inlaws kept our baby boy overnight so my wife & I were able to spend the night in Gatlinburg after driving back through the Smokey Mountains. It rained all weekend, so the truck is already dirty, but we really enjoyed the trip in the truck. Here are a couple pics.
This is the first non Ford vehicle I've ever owned, so it was a sad day to see the Ranger go, but an F-150 is overkill for us and I'm afraid gas will go back to $4 eventually. I still have the Mach 1, so we still have one Ford in the garage! This is also my first automatic in 10 years, so that is a little strange & I miss rowing my own gears. The auto is pretty smooth in the Taco, so hopefully, it'll hold up well. The TRD Off-Road has the electric locker, so that is pretty slick and I've already tried it out a couple times.

At least you will get to know the local Toyota Service manager... Had two of these.... 2005 4x4 v6 auto and 2006 x-runner... both trash. Hope you have better luck. I know you will enjoy the better leg room and space!
I personally would have paid half the price and got a nice 01-04ish Sport trac 4x4. Way nicer truck and better looking... and did I mention half the price???
Good luck bro! Stay in touch

My friend has this exact truck, pretty nice but Not 30000 nice. I cant stand those tiny little handles. It needs some man handles. Also his stereo is one of those whole dash things, not just a single or double din, which would not work for me.
I just feel comfortale in fords, aesthetically with the dash and instrument setups. Im sure it is a great truck though. Everyone has their own preferences and I can t blame you with the 4 doors and not wanting a sport trac. If the 07+ sport tracs had a truck axle still Id go for one of those.

Ditto. although I am a fan of the Tacoma, the 4 door's look horrible to me. Sport tracks are definitely my favorite 4 door "small" trucks.

One of the lead guys for the company has a DC TRD 4X4 short bed, and man is it too small to haul anything in with that tiny bed and a topper on it. If anything is needed for the job site, he sends out somebody else with a bigger truck.
I do like those trucks, though. I wanted to get one after I graduated, but the price tag shooed me away.
