I own a 2005 Ranger Fx4 Level II. I have not done anything to my truck. It is the same as when I drove it off the lot. I was told by another guy that it was a 3/4 ton Is that true?

Ya that's what I thought. I know I have had several hundred pounds in my ranger and it doesn't handle the weight nearly as well as an f150

The only thing half ton about the truck (sort of) is the rear axle.
Older F150s had the 31 spline 8.8 rear axle similar to yours.
