slightly redneckjimmyriggin fixes in a pinch!
thought it would be funny to hear your quick fixes haha. we've all done something off the wall at some point right?
i was wheeling with a friend last weekend in his old bronco and he got a flat. no spare of course haha. anywhoo he does have a bike pump and i got the brilliant idea of using a foam ear plug to slow the leak a bit. his lazy A$$ put off fixing it for a week but it only lost about 5psi! haha. so +1 for redneck ingenuity!
anyone else have a funny one??

My parking brake cable for the passenger side was rubbing on the shock and creating a rust spot so I used a ziptie to pull it off and hooked it to a ubolt lol.
I put black duct tape over the rusted out holes in my bed.
My electrical wiring job for my lights is a whole 'lotta jerry-rigging.
To insulate the hole in the firewall I cut the ends off of a screw plug and siliconed it in place.
I couldn't find a work box to put my 3 relays in so I ziptied them to the ABS pump bracket.

Well, until I can get the Rock Auto center console fix, I took the cracked piece and traced it onto a piece of laminate cutting board I had laying around and cut it out and screwed it to the bottom of the armrest and it is actually very strong, it will never crack, but the hinge piece was shot also, so I found a door hinge to use in it's place for now. It works really well and is strong, but just being the way the hinge is made, there is play in it, so the armrest wiggles around a bit, but I couldn't find anything that worked better. Also if I painted the armrest bottom with some black Krylon Fusion it would look pretty good.

using my 1st gen to clear brush at a construction site i must've burned through a plug wire....
grabbed some 14 gauge house wire and wrapped one end around the plug and the other on the distributor cap....wrapped the plug with a LOT of electrical tape and drove home without any problems....actually drove the rest of the week like that until i got paid, then got new wires

My dad used to have a VW Bug... and one day the throttle cable just snapped while driving on a highway... Trying to figure out what to do, we saw a homeless guy passing by pushing a cart. We saw he had a metal cloth hanger and so we 'bought' it from him. Cut a piece of it, attached one side to the broken end, the other to the TB and we were good to go.

Yeah my wiring is not pretty. I was trying to set up my switch panel in my airbag selector cubby and and I realized that I couldn't identify my light switch wires from the radio and hvac wiring.
The stupid spade connectors I got at AZ were at 90 degree angles so that don't organize well. Plus some of my wires are a foot too long and some are way too short.
One day I will rewire. And SAS. hahahahah

A friend and I were in Southeastern Indiana in his '49 chevy rolling down a backroad in the middle of nowhere when we heard a bang and the engine died. Flipped up the hood & noticed that the distributer cap was in 10 or 12 pieces. Went to the trunk & found some electrical tape & cardboard. Carefully pieced the cap back together & found several pieces gone. Walked back down the road & found some of them. Taped the cap back together, chewed up some of the cardboard to fill in the gaps, and carefully drove back about 40 miles to the west side of Cincinnati.
