Do you keep track of your mods/maintenance/etc?

How many of you keep a book or file of everything you do to your truck? I keep a binder for each of my vehicles with all receipts, instructions and anything else that goes on my truck. Not so much for maintenance though, I do it myself and I just have parts purchases on file at work. The one for the Mustang I sold is like 3" thick! The Ranger is getting up there too... haven't updated it lately it all needs to be organized again!

I used to always keep track of mileage at fill-ups/oil changes all the time... one day I missed it and haven't done it since! In a way I wish I didn't keep all my mod receipts it hurts to look back at it and see what you spent after the vehicle is gone!

I've got everything from my '07 as well. The salesman I bought it from reprinted all the work orders for me from it's first two years before I bought it!

I don't bother keeping receipts from parts for mods unless they have a lifetime warranty. I only keep track of when the next oil change is due and tire rotation/mileage.

You know it's funny, I keep track of everything on the cars. They always get a folder with receipts of everything.

However I don't do this at all with my trucks. Every time I buy a truck I think to myself "I'm keeping this one forever" so I don't bother to record stuff, I just did things at the recommended intervals (or before) and remembered them.
I think part of this is because I've always bought used, and haven't had previous records.
Since buying the VW brand new, I'm even logging fuel receipts. lol

lol i dont log fuel much, besides using it to calc gas mileage.
oil, eh...i just have a general knowledge on that one

but seriously...ever since ive started the SAS on my rig....ive documented every part and price thats been thrown onto the truck...

idk why i didnt start it earlier, but its sure nice....especially when people start asking me back on what parts to use in a sas or something lol

I keep track of everything for the Jeep and everything with the Ranger, including mileage every time I get gas. Needed the fuel and gas receipts for tax time a few years ago, so I just do it by habit now, but nothing with the wifes car, thats her job....

Ditto. I did for a while, kept track of every gas fillup until my computer crashed and I lost it.

On the blank pages of my owner's manual, I keep track of oil and tire changes and any maintenance. Change the oil every 4K miles and rotate tires every 5k. I used to keep a Microsoft spreadsheet of it but have since abandoned that for the owner's manual.

I think it helps especially in resale of vehicles. I plan on never selling mine but you never know what happens down the road or if you will ever change your mind.

As far as dealerships go, sure there are things that should be left to the pros, but I really don't trust anyone to wok on my stuff but me. Heck ya'll can see where I just changed water pump and front oil seal by myself. I guess I'm just too particular.

No longer using fuelly eh?
I just signed up there to keep track of the TDI, although I only have one fuel up that is accurately keeping track so far, the trip odo didn't get reset when the dealer filled it and I couldn't remember the exact miles when we got it.

Although I did log my fill up for my truck today at 12.6mpg. lol

I used to keep it all written down in a book of when I changed the oil and when I rotated the tires and whatnot but now I just have it on my computer.
