i measured ohms between posts 2 & 3.
Was 84.3 followed wires look for mouse chew. All ok. 16 pins were clean , females were tight & clean.

Still get od off flash and hard shift.
What now ?

 

I guess nobody knows.

 

If TSS sensor has correct OHM range, and connector and wires to computer are OK then the tone ring inside the transmission has failed, reluctor wheel
Look for metal flakes in transmission pan and fluid
Need a rebuild to repair it as this is an internal sensor in the rotating part of the transmission, not in the valve body

 

UPDATE

Since this thread left off, i sold the truck and the new owner found the problem.

He pulled the tranny, and found that the reluctor ring had broken off of the planet set. The reluctor ring is what the TSS reads.

EXACTLY what Ron predicted above.

So the code was not lying.

 

Oh by the way, it is a 5R44E, not a 55E
