yes, but that involves unbolting the motor, prying it off or hitting with hammer... then getting under there with vise grips of some sort and turning the tiny little pin... i had to do that for a while! sucked in the rain/snow/mud.

they were only production in the 02-03 rangers as far as later models go so they are highly sought after

Should I worry about a Level II that has over 100k miles? What kind of maintenance is required on our trucks at that age?

All fluids changed, full tune up, brakes, front end, u joints all gone over. All of the ones I looked at over 100K were in good shape, didn't need any parts as they most likely were just replace.

Id do it just for the fact the black interior is the shiznit, there are alot of things unique to a lvl2, everyone who likes rangers looks like wtf is a level2 its pretty funny. Older guys at the gas station always tell me its a sweet truck.

I was looking to save some money. I currently owe $10,000.00 on my Ranger, and can get about $15,000.00 for it retail around here, put $5,000.00 down on a Level 2 and only owe about $6,000.00 on a truck, and it's a Level 2!

I think if I was to do it over again, I'd go with an 02-03 FX4 Level II auto then I'd convert it to a manual T-case. I loved the Twin Sticks but the mazda tranny in these trucks leaves a little to be desired. The towing capacity and throw out bearing situation associated with the manuals kind of sucks.
