Tightening EGR valve fitting-which tool?

Tightening EGR valve fitting-which tool? SOLVED!
OK, after replacing the intake gaskets on my 2.3, (and doing quite a bit of other stuff in the process, ISO a smog certificate) I've finally slobbered the sh!tbox back together. (I'm really getting too old for this. )
I was able to disconnect the exhaust tube from the EGR valve when I disassembled it by using a rainstorm worth of PB Blaster and twisting by hand, but I'd like to make sure it's reinstalled tightly.
Trouble is, I can't get a wrench of any sort, adjustable or whatever, on it. It's 1 1/16". I've ordered a crowfoot wrench in that size from Amazon in the hope that might work, but in the meantime, any ideas? How did you guys do this?

Thanks for thge response. The problem is that this is the 2.3 liter four banger, and the EGR valve is a very tight fit against the firewall. The fitting is 1 and 1/16' so access is limited and it's impossible to get an adjustable, pipe wrench, or open-end wrench on it.
I have a crowfoot wrench on order which will arrive today, so let's hope that works. I think the only other option, if not, will be to disconnect the lengthy EGR tube from the exhaust collector and go from there. Wish me luck.
