Time to buy something new

03 Ranger is falling apart, even with regular maintenance. I am inclined to just drive it until it dies. Seals on the front axle, trans, t-case and engine can't seem to hold any oil or fluids and I have replaced all of them. Tired of working on it and fixing things only to have them break. Ford parts from the dealership are a complete rip off and I can't get anything but Chinese **** knock-off parts out here on Oahu.

Has anyone on here owned or currently own a Jeep Rubi. or newer Yota Taco 2wd or 4wd? Looking at both right now. Probably not going to buy another ranger or F-Series. Don't want the headache, or so I'm told (by a good friend that was the Service Manager @ the local Ford Dealership) that I'd have with the F-Series.

I'm surprised they told you that about the newer F-series, they seem like good trucks.

What year Jeep or Tacos are you looking at?

That sucks your having so many problems, mine still has the original seals with no leaks. I just had my rear axle apart and everything looks like new, even though this truck has spent a lot of time in mud and salt water. Are you lubing the seals and installing them in the right direction?

A couple of my buddies have newer jeeps, one a 4dr and the other a rubicon. If you think the ranger is old tech wait till you drive a jeep. Low speed offroading is the only thing they do well. They both have typical Chrysler quality issues.

Tacos are nice but way overpriced. I can't imagine why an F150 would be a headache, they are generally considered the most reliable trucks. My dad is now on his 4th F150, and has put over 200,000mi on each. None have had more than very minor issues.
