All Ford vehicles to feature EcoBoost technology - Detroit Autos | Examiner.com

Sure would be nice to see a ecoboost go into the ranger from the factory

Who wants a weakoboost. I'd rather build a real turbo motor for it from a forged 2.3 dohc.

I'd be embarrassed to say i had a 2.3 in my truck. **** that. Don't care how much gay horsepower it makes. It'd be super awesome to need 7000 RPM just to tow a jetski around cause all hp no torque.

so its been verified that Ford is discontinuing the Ranger ?
why on earth would they do that ?

as far as I can tell, it has to be one of their bigger sellers.... (I see 3-4 rangers for every other small/mid sized PU)

I'm sorry you don't have experience with the kind of turbo engines I do, I've got +500 ft lbs of wheel torque with less than 2.3L.

i see a ton of rangers as well but i see more pre-03s than 04+s. there sales have dropped considerably since like 2006.

Yes, I've tuned 3 of them and did extensive testing on 2.

i can't trust a motor until i see it ten years later with 200k+ miles on it. even then I do a bunch of research. hence why i hate new cars.
