If you had 5k....what would you do...with my truck lol

Well thinking of getting a small loan to cover some credit and school dept..... BUT was also thinking why not get an extra 5k to put into the truck....

And i was also thinking that if i really enjoy going out on the trails to take that 5k and put it into a vehicle with some goodies on it for just trail riding and keep the truck as is.

I dont plan on trading it in, but sometimes you just dont know.

this is what i was thinking...

1-superlift (used or new)
2-Tires.....15/16
3-Rims.....
4-gears front and back.

Just want your opinion and what you would do.

Thanks alot,

If I had 5k...I would Superlift it, get some 33's or 34's, 4.56's or 4.88's, an Aussie locker for the front, and a Detriot or Lock-Right for the rear. I'd also get a front bumper from C4x4 and a winch. That's all I would do...

Well you asked. I would say supercharge that thing. It would be mean, still very dependable, and you'd love the whine of the supercharger. lol But thats just me.

I wouldn't get a loan to cover a loan. I also wouldn't get a loan for toys on a truck that i'm still paying on.

i wouldnt get a loan to buy toys -- IMO just save the payments into an account until you have enough money then you can say that you own that mod...

I was thinking the same thing as Mike, pay off the loan, then work on the truck. I did something like that and it came back to bite me in the ***.

lmao
I agree. This is a stupid idea. If you owe on school and credit cards and you're considering aNOTHER loan to cover that stuff, why would you get more debt to buy more depreciating stuff?
Focus on getting everything you already have on the lowest interest possible and paying off as much as you can. Reward yourself with someone small occasionally when you've made good progress. That's what I do anyway so I don't feel like ALL I'm doing is paying on stuff.

Imagine those $5000 in parts costing you $9000 in the end...

All my mods I've done was done in stages when I could afford them. Paid cash for everything.

BUT to answer the OP's question, for $5000, I'd do a Superlift w/ fox coil-overs, 35's on 17" wheels, 4.88's, and a tuner. Oh...and exhaust.

If you need to take out a loan for school then that is one thing, but do not take out a loan just to buy some things for your Ranger. It might not seem like a bad idea now but down the road you will regret it.

To answer your question, I'd do what I am in the process of doing with my Ranger: Superlift w/ Fox coilovers and lift leaf springs (so you can stay away from using blocks), 16's w/ 33's, 4.56's, etc.

True. A midget may sound fun but they can be high maintenance and expensive to feed.

Oooh wait you're talking about the loan.

Seriously though it is just a bad idea and it will never get you any return. Paying interest on that is just stupid. By the time you pay it off you'll be bored with the truck anyway. More than likely the truck would be sold/traded and you would still owe money on the loan you took out to mod it.

my thoughts exactly, plus 5k is A LOT to sink into a truck even if you have the cash readily available.

to answer your 5k question. this is what i want to do, i'd lift it with a 6 inch susp lift and 3 inch body lift, a set of 33" super swamper TSL's and rims.. hmm.. still have 2500 left... ummm... new tails, custom front bumper, get my ripple fixed on the side of the bed, roll bar, step bars.
