I have a 08 fx4 Ranger, What is the difference between my Fx4 and the Fx4 level 2. Does it have more opptions or different package?

 

'08, there's only one fx4 model. The '08 Fx4 is a mix of both Fx4 trim levels rolled into one truck.

Previous years: Fx4 got, special polished hooks, special wheels, black interior with special seats, 06+ fx4L2's are two tone, all got 4.10's and an upgraded beefier 31spline rear axle with a special limited slip unit(not found in anyother ranger, called a torsen l/s), manual transmission equipped trucks recieved a special shift ball and chrome shift arm with leather boot, 02(fx4) and 03(fx4L2) that have a manual trans got a manual transfer case with matching chrome arm and ball and trime, extended axle and tcase breather hoses, fore, mid and aft skid plates, bilstein shocks and rancho shocks on later years.

I'm surethere's more, but i dont remember right now.


Fx4 (sometimes called a L1) is nothing more than a Xlt 4x4 with 4.10's, limited slip, and tcase and fuel tank skid plates. in '03, ford renamed the Xlt 4x4 Off Road to Fx4 Off Road. in '02, there was a Xlt 4x4 Off Road model and a Fx4 Off Road model. '02 Fx4 = '03 Fx4L2.
