What's my truck worth?

Just curious to find out what my truck might be worth.

It's a 1998 Ford Ranger Stepside XLT. It has the 3.0 V6, 2WD, extended cab, green interior and exterior and a matching topper on the back. No power anything.

It also has 65K on the odometer.

Any suggestions? I can post photos tomorrow.

I appreciate it, I've looked on NADA, KBB etc, however they're not always the most reliable. Most of the vehicle specific boards actually are a lot more accurate in day to day sales.

I've been thinking about trading it in on a F150 or Tacoma.

The mileage you truck has IMO makes it desireable. 100k 4cyl 5spd xlt power option trucks are on craigslist for about 2500-3000. so 5000-6000 sounds reasonable to me. Check out your local craigslist chaptor to see what people are wanting out oftheirs.

Sounds pretty basic. If you're trading it in, don't expect much from it. Probably 1-2k less than KBB trade in if they are feeling nice.

KBB is usually well above TMV on vehicles that old.

KBB is always the high end of the market.

Edmunds is usually the most accurate. When used car shopping, I start at the edmunds price and decide from there. They can either take it or leave it. Regardless, I rarely see vehicles posted very far above edmunds selling quickly.

IMO...NADA(fair)+EDMUND'S(fair)+KBB(fair) =Average(Divide by 3) = A good starting point.
