metal thingys in the foglights?

hey guys, i got my truck back from the body shop, now the metal thingys inside of the foglights are laying at the bottom of the foglight...... is this a problem, should i take it back and have them fix that? or can i just take the light out and pull the metal thingys out?

the metal thngies arent needed put they provide a different light pattern. its not super noticeable, but I thnk it looks better wthout the metal octogonal peices. your choice in the end but I say leave em out...

This was previously known as the "Swoop1156 Foglight Mod". All it does [the metal things] is disperse the light in a different array.

Take the lights out of the valance, there are 3 screws holding it on.

Then, there are push-cip type connectors holsing the actual foglight together. Squeeze them and pull. You'll see.

Then, when apart, be VERY CAREFUL with the actual reflective material, it seems to be only a coating and can chip/flake off easily.

Re-assemble them in the reverse order as above.

The dealer should fix what they messed up. However, concidering the amount time an hassle you will have to go through to make that happen, you could probably just remove them yourself and be done with it in 1/16 the amount of time.

i didnt have fogs originally in my truck i added them in. I found, that puting them in to be a real btch, and that if i ever traded my truck in, theyre going with the truck. Im not sure how factory fogs are mounted, but i used stainless steel bots with nuts and it was anything but fun, if it were for the fact that my valance was new- under a year old, i think i woulda snapped it in half cause theres 0 room to work

oh yea, about that lil metal thingy, mine fell off, in both, first the driversside, then the passenger side - i just said F it, u cant notice it unless ur lookin for it

Not "brighter" as in more lumens or candlepower or the like, it just really reflects the light in a different array or pattern. I liked it better.

The octagon pieces out should make the lights brighter. Those cover up alot of the bulb thus holding in the light they put out. Most other vehicles' fog lights are small bulbs, 35watts and such. Ranger's fogs are low beam bulbs, 45watts. I guess those are supposed to knock down the light a little. That's my idea.
