Unkowns related to lifts?
So I have wanted to lift my truck ever since I got it and realized some mini-vans were taller than my truck and thought "that's not right!!" So a year later, still trying to figure out what to get, bl/sl, do it myself or hire someone(pretty sure now I will get a $200-300 bl, and do it myself). But that's not what this post is about.
I read a post where a guy mentioned someone told him to lower his bumpers and other things...Is this true? I only want it lifted maybe 3-4in and then 32/33s. When I lift my truck is there a bunch of other stuff I need to change regarding it? I know that aiming my lights down is needed, and that adjusting the speedometer for bigger tires, but is there more than that that I should know of? I live in VA, if anyone also does and knows of something Va has that they also didn't know of or something. For example, I know non-stock mufflers are illegal, but honestly that is stupid, and I know tons of people and see tons of people that cops ignore.
Now, this may sound stupid to you guys who know more about this than me, but don't blame me too much haha. Don't hesitate to leave something out that you think might be basic knowledge for me, I'd rather hear something again than miss something.
Thanks Guys!!!
The post I read about changing something about the bumper(https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...2-lift-110483/)

Bumpers are attached to the frame.....................they are not body parts
If you lift the body 3"-4" then there will be a gap of 3"-4" between body and frame/bumper
What you chose to do about it is your decision, this is purely an aesthetic(looks) decision, bumpers will still be fully functional
Look at front and rear bumpers see how they are attached to the frame and the way they fit in relation to the front grill and tail gate, including the wrap around of the bumpers.
Then picture that with body parts raised up 3"-4"
