2010 Ranger XLT
Is there anything truly new about the newest Rangers? I had on 01 before (as most of you might remember) and am wondering what is new about the new trucks.
The one I am considering is an XLT Supercab, 4x2, w/4.0 V6. Has anything changed with the engine (intake, etc), exhaust, suspension, etc.
I'd like to know asap. Thank you
Jason

Same truck, same engine, same power, same everything except the rear disk brakes as mentioned above. Also the fog lamp switch is part of the headlight switch. Oh can't forget the stability control. If you are looking to swap stuff from your old truck to a newer truck it should all work except for the intake.

The rear end does look to be a different unit altogether. Also has side airbags which means the seat was redesigned with a movable headrest. Foglight switch has been integrated since 2006.
The 4L is not worth it unless you are looking to get all the power options for the same price as a regular cab XL F150. If you can afford beyond the base XL F150 and need/want the power, then do it.
I got my 2.3L to keep forever because gas is never going down again. Supply is limited. Once this one is paid off I will get a Stang with either the Ecoboost V6 or 5.0L V8, and if gas gets horrendous I'll sell it or default.

Correction on the foglite switch, my 06' foglite switch is still on the radio bezel. As to the OP, the only real difference as stated before, the rear disc breaks and the side curtain airbags are the additions. The FX4 was dropped and now the Sport is the top of the line. Also the old mazda 15" wheel is available on the XLT. But it comes mounted with 235s even though its 4X4!

But i got my 09 with a bunch of options for less than 17K brand new. Youd be looking at a used F150 for that price that will have upwards of 40K miles on the 5.4
The 15K id save vs a new F150 would buy 5 years of fuel.

FX4 is gone. The Sport is a lateral move from the XLT is how I see it. The only thing that is upgraded is the rear end and tires, and since they're Goodyears, they're not much of an upgrade IMO. I guess you can consider the body color grille an upgrade if that's your thing. I prefer the chrome.
