94 ranger 4.0 loss of power when accelerating
My 94 4.0 ranger struggles to accelerate sometimes.
It goes in and out of power seems like when I get up to about 25 miles per hour it starts ******* out it will last for a few minutes and then all the sudden start accelerating it's almost like I'm hitting a power band LOL.
I have done a full tune up on the truck spark plugs and wires air filter oil change fuel filter andreplace the PVC valve .my truck doesn't have an ERG valve as far as I know I can't find one on there .
I have ran seafoam in the gas and through the air intake. Not sure what to do next.

Clean the MAF sensor, once a year on the 4.0l
You correct no EGR on the 1994 4.0l, except in Calif
Also use a Volt meter, set to 20vDC, to test TPS(throttle position sensor)
It has 3 wires
You want to test the center wire, use a sewing needle to pierce the wire
Turn on the key, engine off
You should see .69 to .99 volts, under 1 volt
Now open the throttle manually while watching the voltage, it should go up steadily until at wide open(WOT) and reads 4.5-4.9volts, under 5volts
If you see any jump or drop in voltage while move throttle, replace TPS, it has a dead spot, should be nice and steady up and down
Not related but when Ranger gets older the throttle cable will get stretched, so you won't get full throttle with gas pedal to the floor, simple fix
Google: Ranger throttle cable mod
Just a zip tie(or two) in the cab on the end of the throttle cable
