This is how my day started today
So my day started off today with a simple drive to the gym...or so I thought. I was cruising down the highway doing around 60mph. I hit a small bump in the road and next thing I know my right side front wheel comes off. Trying to stop a truck with 3 wheels and no brakes doing 60mph was not how I saw my morning going. The truck started to slow down at which that point I tried to pull into a parking lot. My spindle caught the ground and almost roll me over. My tire ( with rotor and caliper still attached ) managed to rocket across 4 lanes of busy traffic with out hitting anything or anyone thank god.
Well thats my story. I tried to attach a photo, not sure if it worked. I hope everyone had a better day than me hahaha

At the time when I got the truck I lived in CA and I had intentions of redoing the suspension and building a mild prerunner. But times got tough and I moved back to NJ. So here I am in NJ with a lifted 2wd ranger. Trust me had I known I would have been moving back to NJ I would have gotten a 4x4.
So to make it even worse the company that made the lift spindles on my truck are no longer in business. So now instead of just buying one right side replacement spindle, now I have to buy a set.

I believe you can lift the ranger via spindle and still have a strong suspension. Camburg makes a full race set up with 17"s of travel using a spindle lift. In my case I bought the truck already lifted and what I now know to be poorly built spindles from a company who has been out of business for years now ( shocking ). Im not too sure of the fabtech spindles but thats what I'll be replacing mine with. If I intended on keeping the truck I would go with Camburg's 10" travel kit for sure. But living in NJ there is no need for a prerunner 2wd Ranger hahaha

Sorry to hear about that but at least you or anyone else were not hurt. I had a similar experience about 20 years ago. I had just completed a brake shoe replacement on the rear wheels of my 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlas. What I did wrong was I adjusted the brakes too tight and they overheated so much on the drivers side that the bearings came apart (pressed-on type) and my axle came out. Besides having to change my underwear, noone was hurt. I had to walk almost 1/4 mile because even though I went straight, my axle went to the right! I learned alot that day.
