Installed a sunroof.

I'll get better pictures this weekend as I'm putting the rest of the truck together and putting down the sound deadening materials..

Should have new ones this weekend... still installing RAAMAT on the inside to make the interior a little more quiet and cut down on heat... I'm amazed at how much heat comes off the transmission tunnel when you remove the carpet/padding on the floor...

1998 ranger xlt 4x4 3.0 5 speed

well I recently bought my 1998 ranger xlt 4x4 3.0 5 speed it was owned by a local village I got it pretty cheap because the 4x4 didn't work after about a 10 minute mod the 4x4 works perfect ... I had a problem with it wanting to idle up to 3,000 rpm I was told to change the iac valve so I took the one off my buddies explorer ( it has the 4.0 ) and I am not having the idle issues now I also changed the air filter and fuel filter it will roast the tiers 1st and 2nd gear now and i put in a new jvc cd player I have no issues with the way it runs and drives but can anyone help me with some visual suggestions the truck is dark green and it looks to (plain) like every other factory ranger out their im new to the rangers I have allways been a chevy man but this lil truck is slowly changing my mind

Drove her back and forth to work, stopped by Ford to pick up the tailgate oval for my rebadge and it had a scuff on it. I guess I'm waiting another week then. But they were still cheaper than anywhere on eBay

busy day of little projects, added new tie downs to my dual battery tray, added an external speaker to my VHF radios, wired in cab winch controls and beefed up a few welds on my tire carrier.

Put in my mustang dome light today, much better than stock! Why Ford didn't put these in from the factory is beyond me.

I had to remove my Evap Charcoal Canister, it is clogged and I could not for the life of me fill up my truck - unless I held the gun handle at not even half -

Drove it for the first time in almost 2 months and filled her up with some gas. Checked all fluid levels and got her ready for tomorrows offroad adventure.

Well I am glad I have 2 vehicles after todays bullshit.

Didn't even make it 7 miles into the trail.

First it started off with this. After this I parked the truck and jumped in Kyles truck.

Then Kyle broke his driver side inner tie rod. So we jumped in the third vehicle and went back to my truck.

Moved my truck not even 100 yards and this happens. Then we head back to town in search for a hub, cv axle and a inner and outer tie rod. Had to drive 60 miles to the next town to get the parts. Get back to the trucks and it had to just ******* rain. Get my Ranger torn apart to replace everything and the god damn brake caliper bracket was broken. So after some vice grips, a clamp and a bungee cord I strapped the caliper to the frame and drove 150 miles home with only 3 brakes. Lesson learned, DO NOT try to drive without the cv shaft, wheel hub will fall apart.

I started out replacing the squeaky idler pulley. While I had that air hose off, I also cleaned the throttle body. It had some gunk around the edge, but it was coated with gunk on the back of the plate. Then I figured I'd clean the IAC valve. It wasn't to dirty, but I cleaned it anyway. I also cleaned the MAF valve and put in a new air filter. Everything is nice and clean now.
I haven't had a chance to drive her since my Seahawks are on.

Washed the hell out of it. Wasn't to bad on the outside, just some mud. But underneath was caked with about 4" of mud lol.

Figured its a nice day, going to start getting cold, may as well give it its year end final wash before winter.

NICE!!!

been there done that lol. I carry spare CVs with me now. the trick is to hook a winch up to the center section of the CV and break it out of the way and leave the stub shaft in the axle and hub. then you have 2wd to get out, no diff fluid leaks (and your wheel wont fall off :) )

you may want to investigate your bump stops and add some limit straps to keep the suspension in check. I found that as the suspension droops it extends the CV WAYout to the weakest part of the tri pod joint.

also check your front diff support bracket it may be allowing the diff to move side to side.

also did it happen to break in reverse?

How did the tie rod break?

Cleaned out the K&N filter last night and threw it back in before it started to rain. Probably gonna change the oil in the next couple weeks.
