what to do?
I bought my red trucks replacement last week for 1000 and i randomly threw it on craigslist for 2300 and got offered 2k for it.
Should I keep it or sell it?
All i've done was gut the interior and replace the carpet, spray the entire frame black, grind front and rear bumpers and paint, paint grille, front drivers side wheel has new rotor, caliper and pads.
What the truck needs:
-upper and lower ball joints
-inner and outer tie rods
-brakes on the other 3 wheels (they work but new is probably a good idea since its been sitting 6 months)
-exhaust from the cat back.
The truck has a LOT of scratches and a nice dent over the passengers side door handle and it has 192k on it.
Im not sure if its worth lifting it, buying wheels, buying 33s, replacing the seats, upgrading to an 8.8 etc since it has high mileage and if i sell it for 2000 it would be a gain of 1k after doing minor things to it.

The only thing is that I need a vehicle to have my own insurance policy so i'm allowed to drive my parents vehicles. If i get added to their policy it will cost much more than me having my own because of my driving record.
Also, if i sell it I dont think ill be able to find a truck for 2k in better shape. I don't want to take a loan out because ill have enough loans to pay come december when i have to start paying my school loans.

yeah i do. need it to get to work because right now im only working 1 day a week and its basically pointless. Luckily right now i've got a ride to school and back everyday or i'd be screwed.

I'd sell it. If a ride is absolutely important, get a beater.
Start saving up for a better truck that doesn't have 192k on it and isn't all beat up. Its a hard thing to hear, but you don't have to drive a Ranger. If i sell my truck before i buy a new one (which is probably gonna happen) I'm gonna pull a KLC and drive the Edge my buddy bought as an extra car around.

Sounds like you're kind of like me in a way. You feel like you HAVE to mod any vehicle you have, no matter the condition its in.
Personally, i'd keep the truck around and drive it as is until you can afford what you really want. Do the absolute min to it just to keep it safely and reliably on the road. If you're getting that much interest in it on craigslist now, you will get the same amount in 6 months, or a year. Then once you have the money you need to buy a better Ranger, sell it and use that money to mod your new Ranger.
