As for how i pay for my truck, i burned 3k i had saved to buy a Corvette to mod it out. After the 3k was gone, i have started putting it on Credit cards. have about 1k debt plus my truck payment now, but i get a raise in 1 month.

Truck payment is 233 a month.
What exactly is it you do, if you don't mind me asking???

i pay for EVERYTHING. always have, always will....but thats the problem, cuz i didnt watch my money untill recently and debt got very out of hand. i still chill at my parents house, but im 23 with a full time job, and im going to college (STILL).....my sister is at pepperdine university in malibu, CA....she drives a 2003 ford escape...school, rent, insurance, cellphone, car payment, and some food is paid for. she works so that she can have spending money.

i on the otherhand pay 380 for the truck, 130 for insurance....gas, food, and misc is about 600, but i have creditcard bills out the *** for being really stupid with my money.....when i get that under control, ill feel better. and by the way, i took home before taxes 35k last year, thats not bad, but i became bad with money when i started making it.

When I was 16 my parents bought a neighbors sold my parents a Plymouth colt vista. So obviously, i never drove to school as i was embarassed by it. Then my dad told me "as soon as it dies we'll get you your own car" and a week later, tranny went out! And NO! I didn't do it haha. So I don't know how I chose the ranger, but my dads deal was "you buy truck, we pay for gas" or "we buy truck, you pay for gas". In the few motnhs though before the ranger arrived(my parents went on a business trip a few months after the colt vista died) i got to drive their 95 mercedes, and then when they upgraded, their 06 mercedes. So I had a few fun months.

Now I am at college, without a truck. It sucks majorly. My parents get hell for it, but I am also looking for one to purchase. I'll see what they say when I'm home for thanksgiving. It's not that they took it away that pisses me off, its that there was no good reason, and it is just sitting in the driveway.

i have aso payed for all of my cars and all in cash never had to pay payments, started when i was 15 when i bought a 95 dodge dakota sport reg cab 2x4, i loved that truck and had 140k miles, i payed $500 for it, i then sold it for $1,500 because of mods and bought a 96 ford ranger ex cab 4x4 w/180k miles on it and then sold that for 5k when i bought it for $3,500 i then bought my recent truck a 99 ranger 4x4 4dr w/70k miles for 7k and payed cash, i am now 17 years old and i get $15 an hour witch works out to be arouns 31k per year and just love to blow my money and pay for outrageous insurance for mass and cellphone bills and i would hate to pay payments for a new truck.

I got my truck as a 16th b-day present. We bought it in '03 & it's an '01. I've got around 3k in my truck mods that come & go, but I save up to it all. I don't have to pay for anything other than gas so I reckin' I'm lucky... :D

That's how I see it too. I don't come from a poor family, so I had a relatively new vehicle bought for me, instead of an older truck. But, I don't get pissed off when I see a kid with a 50k vehicle; simply his parents worked for that money, and he reaps the benefits. If someone has the money, why should they suffer like someone poorer than them.

But also, I used to get made fun of "your daddy bought you your truck". I'd jus tell them "What does that have to do with anything? I have a hell of a lot more knowledge about fixing cars than you; and your rides a piece of ****".

I bet you would get mad if that kid with the 50k car said that to you.

Just cause its a 'poorer' car doesnt mean that they are suffering. I had more chics in my dented up 1982 Diesel Chevette than i did my very nice 1986 Nissan Hardbody or my 1986 Chevy 4x4.
