How to empty fuel tank ???
I have a very good buddy in the military who has finally decided to take a leave and come pick up his truck and drive it back to his base (in Missouri).
His truck has been sitting for quite some time, and the gas has probably gone bad. So the goal is to safely empty his fuel pump.
I found a smiliar thread, but it wasn't much help:

His ranger is a 2001 Edge 4.0 4X4
Through searching, it seems like there is a schrader valve that can be syphoned from when re-wiring the fuel pump. Problem is, where is the shcrader valve, and how do you re-wire the fuel pump? Also, would getting old gas out this way be safe for the truck?
Recommendations please?

How long has it been sitting for? Usually if you just siphon out the gas thats in the tank and throw in a few gallons of some fresh stuff it will be fine. It might not start right away, but if its been sitting for a long time you dont want it to start right up anyway. You should give it a few turns to circulate the oil first.
The schraeder valve is on the fuel rail on the engine, its like a tire air valve, just not made of rubber.

I'd recommend dropping the tank or cramming your hands up on top to remove the filler neck. There is a screen along the filler neck that prevents a siphon from reaching the bottom of the tank.
I don't recommend using the fuel pump to pull the gasoline out. That would be pushing bad fuel through your entire fuel system, and just bypassing the injectors. Not only that, but it would take forever to drain all that fuel through your stock pump and schrader valve.
If you can pull the bed off, it makes it much easier to drain the tank.

How long is a long time? My dads f100 was sitting for 8 years and started and ran on 8 year old gas. If it been a few years just check the fluid (oil, coolant, ect) If there not much in the tank see if it start go to a gas station and fill er up. If theres still alot in there siphon it out and put some fresh in
