Clutch overhaul, what to buy ???
Hey guys, I am going to Canada in July and I am leaving my truck with the family mechanic for a big overhaul. With 125k on my factory clutch it's time for a replacement, though I was surprised it lasted this long. It's just now starting to slip. Go Ford!
Anyway, since I have the good ol' squeaky slave cylinder I am going to have him do the clutch slave cylinder. I've heard it is best to get the improved one straight from Ford cause it doesn't squeak and it is already primed. Anyone know how much they run over just an auto parts store?
I also need to get the flywheel re-machined. I know NAPA re-machines rotors, do they do flywheels too? If anyone knows how much that would be great so I can leave him some money to get it done.
Do I need anything else besides the re-machining, the clutch set (pressure plate, cover, and pilot bearing), and the slave?
Thanks guys. Anyone who has done a Ranger clutch, your help is appreciated.
P.S. If anyone has Edge bed rails to trade for my tonneau cover, PM me.

buy a clutch kit right from the dealer, comes with a clutch, pressure plate, clutch alignment tool, slave and a pilot bearing. let me know the price before you buy it and if my price is alot lower, maybe we can work something out with the tonneau cover you have. have the flywheel resurfaced, torque the flywheel bolts in order and put teflon tape on them before re-installing them
