3rd times the charm

only gonna have my ranger for a few more months so im looking for any ideas that are CHEAP and EASY, none of this 8cyl upgrade twin turbo crap, i would love too but i dont have the money or time. So what did yall do to your ranger, little customization wise, thanks yall

If you know you're only gonna have it for a few months, why spend money on it? That doesn't compute.

Oil changes
Tire inflations
antifreeze/coolant
transmission oil
lightbulb replacement
windshield washer fluid

Those are all cheap, easy, and doable....... and in 8 months when you get rid of it, you won't have regrets about dumping money into a vehicle that you're not keeping.


But it is your money afterall.....

you asked for opinions and you are getting them.

simple maintenance is actually a fantastic idea for short term vehicle ownership. do a full fluid flush. tranny, t-case, diffs, oil, coolant. stuff like that. get it ready to sell. work on any rust. fix problems. you could do some two toning on the paint. or paint your wheels.

Hey... you wanted us to spend you money for you, right? On second thought... since you're getting rid of it in 8 months, might as well put those mods on MY truck. That way you only deal with the installation once and no swapping over. That should save you some time.

When should I bring my truck over?

I swapped in a V8 and dual supercharged it, have you thought of that at all?

That's find and dandy... but not when you KNOW you'll be getting rid of the truck in 8 months. THAT'S what we are all saying. Regular maintanance is (and will be) your best friend for the next 8 or so months.

save your money for mod's on your next car/truck i remmber at your age 8 months seemed like forever but just wait 8 months will come and go then your have some cash stashed for some cool mods on whatever you get next

I was joking guys. im 19 and in my second year at embry riddle. I am not vehicle illiterate and know how to and continue to do maintainance on her i was just wondering what yall have done that cheap and easy to make her "your" truck, i figured if im only gonna have <year then ill beat the crap out of her out at the compound, i was just looking for fun ideas

Yea im supposed to be getting my fathers tacoma, not sooooo bad but its that anoying neon blue crap. I just wanna treat my ford nice before she goes

OHCs are cheap and easy. If you don't have foglights add some. Either stock or aftermarket. They are a big help. I did so.

So some paint mods or if you are really ambitious do your frame. wire wheel it and rustoleum. When you go to sell you can be like "stripped and painted entire frame"

i did fogs and i loveee them, more than worth it, i painted rims, bed liner, door jams, glove box door, splash guard and plastic cover on top of rear bumper, BUT THANKS FOR THE IDEAS, this is what im talking about, OHC = over headed compartment right?

Try the throttle cable mod and air box mod they are cheap to free if you have tbars crank them that's a few inches of lift for free specs on your truck help

done the cable mod which is kinda kool, done air box mod, sounds sick, MPG fell like a rock, and ive got a 2000 ranger so no T-bars here... but will wheel spacers do anything for the look? what are the pros and cons of putting wheel spacers on? wont they simply bump my tires out?
