Hey yall...Havent been on here in months since i have been busy with my website but i finally got around to trying to install my CB. I dont need to wire an antenna since i will only be using the PA for my site promotions.

The Midland CB has:

2 wires coming out of the unit, assuming its a power and ground.
There is a PA input where i plugged in another wire
Then the speaker with 2 wires coming out.

My difficulty is where can i hook the wires up?? I am assuming the PA input wires needs to go to the speaker? So the other 2 wires need to connect to the battery and a ground? How do i connect it to the battery?

2 wires are power. I ran them to the power distribution box on the drivers side of the engine bay. Grounded it, and powered from the front side of the box where it has a nut you can remove to use a connecter, or washer to make good contact. Its an ''always hot'' spot. Make sure you have an inline fuse in the power line, or you'll smoke the sucker...

The PA will need an 1/8" head phone plug, which you can get at Radio Shack, solder wires to plug and your ready to go...

 

I just spliced into the switched power behind the head unit........it was easier for me.....

 

And not you do not need the antenna hooked up.

 

well I hope it is a PA OUTPUT
use a mono miniature plug
inside you will find two spades to solder to
one is for the the signal the other sheild or ground
the two wires from the PA speaker should be soldered to these
use better wire and watch for spots where it could be cut or worn down enroute to your PA speaker mounting location

Hmmm what is the power distributor box?? And how would i know which is ground and which is power?

 

its under the hood, just rearward of the battery. You will see a larger black cover, and a smaller cover on it that you can unclip. Unclip it, and you'll see two terminals. Power off of here, its always "hot" so you will always have power.
