What would you pay for a brand new FX4?

So, tonight I was telling some of the guys at work about the new Ranger that I test drove (an '08 FX4 fully loaded) and they said that the price of 26,000 was really high for a mini truck.

I tried to tell them that it was only MSRP and I could walk out of the dealer paying around 22,000 or lower, but they still insisted that the price was way too high for what the vehicle is.

What do you guys think?

it is really high....and yes, it probably was the msrp. Figure out what the dealer paid and go from there. Wheel and deal. Notice how the price of the dollar is getting lower? Prices are getting higher? Used to be that you'd get a brand new Fx4 fully loaded for 24 msrp(drive away for 22ish)...not anymore. HELL....all the other fully loaded midsize trucks(yoda, nissan, dodge) are 30k. better off getting a fullsize for a few dollars more a month.

You can get a year old F150 with low miles for like $20K. I'd rather get that.

Here is one:

06 FX4 Crew with 28K miles for $19.

x2.

I created a FX4 with all the offroad amenities and it ran around 28k... personally I'd buy an older one and just stick the difference in parts.

I paid $23K for my fully loaded XLT... but apparently they rape you in Seattle when it comes to vehicle pricing... MSRP was over $26K... Almost bought a 150 for a few grand more but can't afford the difference in gas.

i paid $27,xxx up here in canada for an 08xlt. that was with employee pricing but this was in feb/march. our dollars were about even then. i think the fx4 would have ran me $29,xxx after taxes. however, i didn't wanna go that route since i don't like the flares on them.

www.carsdirect.com. Just take the invoice for thetruck you build and subtract the rebates. If a dealer has the truck on the lot still they will take it.

believe it or don't, the sticker price for my '01 fully loaded edge was $24,600.
this was 8 years ago (purchased nov 2000)
so, i don't think $26,000 for a new loaded fx4 is all that high.

times are tough! got to raise the prices somewhere.

In 2004 I paid 18K for a loaded level II ranger. That was including tax and license. The sticker was around 26K. Whoever pays sticker on a ranger is getting taken. I wouldn't pay over 20K for a ranger, not because they aren't worth it, but because I would go full size for that money. A friend of mine just bought a pretty decently optioned f150 supercrew 5.4 with a 6.5' box for about 25K brand new. It wasn't an FX4 or anything but it wasn't a stripped work truck either.
