1994 Ford Ranger 2WD

Hi Fellows:

First post. I bought my 1994 Ranger new. It only has 48,000 miles on it. Yesterday the shackle on the driver read rusted into I called my local Ford garage and they want around 300.00 bucks for parts and labor to only replace the one shackle Where is a good place you can buy stock shackles for a 1994 Ranger? JC Whitney has replacements but I'm a bit afraid they are universal no fit.

Thanks
Pepi

this happened on a few trucks i know including my splash. the new hanger and shackel is only $50ish from the dealer. easiest way is take off rear bumper if you dont want to take the bed off and you can get to it better and put a new hanger and shackel on it. took me about oh 2 hours because of rusted stuff to changed it...

If you ever plan on lifting this would be a good time to install some "chevy drop shackles". So if you're interested in lifting, someone could explain further, otherwise stock replacement is good.

Would you happen to have the FORD part numbers for the front mounts and shackles? My mechanic told me I need to replace the cab mounts too. I can't find the number for these either

you dont have front shackles.....you have a front hanger.......if you look in that parts quote, it is for 2 rear hangers, 2 rear shackles, and 1 of something else for $5.11......

Buy the parts from a Ford dealer, then check out a local spring shop for labor...thats what a lot of our customers do here, the labor at a spring shop will only be a fraction of the dealer labor.
