How bad did I mess up?
Well, I took my filter off lastnight to clean it, its an AEM oil free filter, and i let it dry over night and put it on this morning. I guess I didnt rinse it well enough, started the truck and it was idling really bad so I hit the gas a few times and let it idle and then it died.
SO wth is going on, I pop the hood, checked a few things then decided to take the filter off to check inside it, pull the tube off and what do I see? suds, everywhere, pull the filter off and its loaded with suds, I cleaned out the tube and put it back together without the filter and started the truck, its running better but its idleing kinda bad, almost dies and it kinda smells, I still have the filter off, rinsed it really well and am letting it dry now but i had the truck out for a quick errand and its still idling kinda bad, and still smells kinda funny, did I mess up really bad here? Im hopeing maybe its something simple like suds got into the MAF, should I try cleaning it and whats best to use to clean it? Thanks in advance for any input and suggestions.

There is an electrical contact cleaner that you can use to clean the MAF. I think radio shack would be your best bet, but autozone may also carry it.
You may also run some RxP or other type of cleaner through the fuel system. Just something to knock off any crud that may have built up in your combustion chamber. Being a 5 year old truck, it could probably use it anyway.

Seams to be running fine now, I let it sit for a while, and I rinsed and dried the filter and I got it back on now and its running just fine, idleing like normal, so hopefully no problems show up later on.
I was thinking just in case I would run something through the fuel to clean anything out and clear up the fuel injectors, might help lessen or get rid of the little bit of noise ive been hearing under the hood to, I may also take the throttle body off to check inside of it, and clean it out if it needs it.
Is there anything you would recomend to run through my fuel to clean it out?
