3.0 to 4.0 swap
hey guys i know there is a ton of threads on this but just looking for some feedback found this on craigslist and wondering if any of you think it would be a good idea ? my truck is a 2001 3.0 5spd and i believe the engine is out of a 98 from the post just curious if this engine would work in my truck?

thanks so def go for sohc over ohv ? and if so just as an estimate how much do you think the sohc would run? oh just so yall know im not really looking for that much power increase i mean obviously thats a nice bonus but my 3.0 has almsot 215xxx on it and its just getting old so i figure ill go back with a bigger engine if i have got to do a ton of work to it anyway

with all the timing chains in a SOHC I can't realy stand here and say it will outlast the older 4.0's with OHV.
.... but using the same or similar year engine generally makes things simpler and gains more HP. Cost wise it shouldn't add anymore. Explorers had the 4.0 SOHC and there are a bunch in the junkyards. Parts are plentifull.
