D. you always have a nifty story.

I have been stuck countless times, but there's always going to be a bigger truck. And no matter how agressive your tires are or how much lift you have, once your axles are hung, you're screwed.

1st time I ever got stuck was in a muddu ditch. I hit it and sank. A 4wd silverado with 35" boggers and 3" or lift all around got stuck in the same spot.

2nd time was in a mudd hole. It was just slick and I was trying to make it dig too much (we were trying to make the mud hole deeper by spinning our tires all the way through the ruts. 4wd would have helped me here, but this was a result of purposely poor driving.

3rd time was in a lake bed. I went down, drove around, played in the sand, turned to go up hill and couldnt ever get enough speed to make it up the hill and I'd just slide down. One time ABS made me slide all the way into the muck in the center of the lakebed and I couldnt get moving agian. 4wd may have helped me here if I had better tires.

4th time was at a construction site. They had brought in a huge load of sandy soil. It rained really hard for a couple days. This washed an oat-meal like muck into a low spot. It settled to look like wet sand. I hit it and sank to the floor boards on the front. It took digging and a little tug from a 2wd F-150 on the dirt road 50yrds away to get her out. 4wd would not have helped here.

Snow is the only thing I get hung up in but my new rear axle should solve that problem.

Only been stuck once where I needed some assistance. My avatar pic is from that day. Best winter in years, albuquerque actually declared a state of emergency we had so much snow and ice. Open diff with 31" mudders got me out there, it was trying to turn around and come back that got me stuck. The Jeep that pulled me out got stuck doing the same thing trying to turn around and get in front of me. Great day! I've almost been stuck in sand and mud but if I get myself out without a winch I dont consider it stuck.

Around here, I like driving around in the back roads till 2wd gets stuck.. usually involves wet clay.. I have no problem with sand or anything up here, as we don't really have any :-D Never had a problem in snow before.. well, not stuck, but more like "embarrassing moment to get my truck out of the driveway" with my old 88' 2wd 2.3L ranger.. I had to chain up just to get 20 feet onto the main road, back up a bit.. unchain myself, and scoot off for work :-)

But nowadays, i just click 4-low and crawl on out =)

That crap happened to me in my '85 Bronco :-( grr, one front tire got stuck in a little dip.. and the other was spinning.. I was leaving a buddies house in teh middle of the night and he told me to be quite.. then 5 minutes later you hear this engine roaring sound of me trying to "quietly" rock the truck back adn forth enough to hop out of the ditch.. sorta embarrassing
