I've got '91 Ranger with a 3.0 and an automatic transmission. Im getting a new machine for my business this spring but I'm afraid I'm going to have to upgrade my truck as well. The machine, trailer, and equipment will be 3100 pounds total. I'm not sure what the towing limit is on my truck but I'm guessing it can't do it. Then again, I don't know. Bottom line, I really really don't want to sell my ranger. Does anyone know if it will be possible to keep it and pull that much?

 

2wd or 4wd? You will be fine with 3100 pounds.

No, you'll be fine. Just get a good class 3 hitch.
