I've been kicking around the idea of getting rid of my truck. Unfortunately, no dealer will give me what I want for it (between 4-5g's.) So, in lieu of trading her in, she might be for sale soon. I want more power and the ability (a distant second) to stick more than one other person in the truck. Plus I just want something different.
The current leaders are an '03-'05 Ranger Level II (more power and just a sweet, sweet ride) or an '08 Nissan Frontier NISMO, either King Cab stick or a Crew Cab. You can't argue with 4-wheel disc brakes and 260HP from the Nissan. Their six speed is a little wonky but I can live with that for the right price.

I like my Ranger. The only two problems: need a backseat, and more towing capacity.
I havent towed past 5k, more like 4k but you can feel the truck working its *** off.
Next truck: Ideally an FX4 F150 (once you get FX4, you cant get any less!!) or maybe I'll wait for the next gen Ranger/F100/whatever the hell it is.
If the next Ranger has more power and more room, even with a little bigger size, I'm going to get one of those.

i traded my '88 for a 2wd gm 3/4 ton, needed something that would pull a 24' travel trailer and the '88 just had the 2.3 , eneded up only using the camper a couple of times. the big truck had a 350 nv4500 5-speed and got 13-16 mpg. i traded the 3/4 ton for a pontiac montana, it was just too small and had oil consumtion issues, i found my '93 on the lot 3 moths after buying the montana, traded for it and still have it 5 years later. funny how the 2 rangers look similar. i would have put a visor on the '93 but at 200+ i felt that was too much for a accesory that just was for appearance. the original phot of the '88 was took about 1992. i last saw the truck 4 years ago (was traded in about 1997) and its age was starting to show. if i were to replace the ranger now and had the money id consider the mahindra diesel thats supposed to be coming out. http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/new...idandmore.html

never getting rid of it hopefully lol wow dont get a ranger with 2wd and be like i wish i had 4x4 thats doesnt make sense, when i was looking for a ranger i said black,4x4,largest engine, reg. cab FTW!!, and long bed, trucks are trucks not people haulers there stuff haulers thats why there trucks and not cars....and one more thing lol you dont have to have 4x4 to go off-road but you do have to have it if you plan on going off-road and not getting stuck on wet grass

Well, I traded my first Ranger, a 1992 for my second Ranger, a 2000. I just wanted a newer truck and loved the look of the new trucks at the time. Didnt have much choice to get rid of the 2000, guy ran a red light and totaled her so I used the insurance money and got my 2001 4X4 and dont plan on getting rid of it any time soon.

Still have my 02 Ranger. Though it's back on 33" all terrains right now.
Got my F-250 because i got a great deal and i tow a lot of things and hauled equipment for the farm.
