Wow i hate deer

Wow coming home from work tonight at about 1:30 2am, im going down the road near some power lines and i see in the corner of my eye this deer just runs right out into the road and sure enough, i just nailed it. f'ed up my front bumper really bad, left quarter panal has a huge dent in it, ripped the left front head light clean off and the door closes all messed up. Pretty sad I only hit the thing going about 35 too and it just did so much damage, i am completely pissed right now im at a loss for words, all that money i just spent on it, wheels etc i feel like i just pissed it all away. I guess I have to look on the bright side though, im fine and the truck can be fixed and the left rim and tires arnt messed up from what I can see. One thing is for sure, haha rangers can take a hit. I'll get some pics tomorrow when I go and look at it, coundlt drive it home cuz the bumper was rubbing on the front tire to much. Sad part was I just saw deer on the same road same time last night, I just cant believe i actually hit one. wow, If I wasnt so pissed and let some guy take it I would probably go back and run it over a few times. :( This is why I drive a truck, car would have been gone.

Dang dude sorry to hear about that. At least your not injured and your trucks not totalled. Could have been a lot worse.

I'm just glad I wasnt going like 50 then I would have totaled it.. and i would probably be hurt. I swerved like instantly but didnt do any good. it just ran right into me. yeah.. dunno if ishould sell it now, I don't like having a vehicle thats been hit, but i guess it can be fixed better than new so, all it is is a quarter panal, wahtevers underneath, bumper, grille and headlight. I still cant believe it.

Should be a pretty easy fix. Just check to make sure none of the internals are damaged. Did it bend your frame at all?

that sucks, but look at the bright side, no-one was hurt, the truck can be fixed or replaced, people cant. also not sure what your insurance company may be like, but the deer hit YOU, not you hit the deer. here if I hit it, I pay the deductable and take the hit as its a collision, where if the deer hits me, no deductable and no hits against. yea its dumb but I just play by there rules.

I doubt it bent my frame, i moved it off the road so a semi wouldnt nail it, so im guess thats fine. Yeah I think it will be an easy fix. I can't even sleep. Insurance better cover it I'm not spending more money to get it fixed. The dent wasnt too bad, about 3 inches thick. my bumper took the most damage that thing was really messed up and my left headlight was compltely tooken off. Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure nothign internal was damaged. I'm sure quite a bit of little things are messed up though. Whatever, at least i killed that pos deer. It was a pretty good sized doe too.

I did the same thing back in October with my truck. I was going to work at 3am to only hit a deer and screw my day up... I got it back on my birthday looking better than ever so I'm not too upset. But the more and more I see black 98-00 sport's I miss the all black look of my truck. Hopefully you have comprehensive? and can get it fixed on the insurance companies money.

ahh man that sucks forreal but to tell you the truth my brother sold his 98 lifted tacoma to a guy 3 nights later the guy hit a deer going about the same speed and it rolled the truck 3 times and he barely lived threw it so i dont think a lifted truck would have made any differnce maybe a full on arb steel bumper would have plowed that deer without a problem but hope insurance covers the damage.. if id killed a deer with my truck id put it in my bed for proof lol and maybe if it wasnt mangled to bad skin it when i got home haha lord thats the redneck in me lol

The deer was fine lol, I just hit it head on so its head was a little messed up, I had no way of getting it home, some guy stoped and asked me if he could have it, i was too pissed and didn't care. I'm going to go look at the truck right now and grab some pics. I barely got any sleep last night. It'll get fixed up soon I'm sure its just an easy fix and itll be back to good as new, I'm taking it to a ford dealership so they can actually do it right.,

Here's some pics of the aftermath, I looked underneath and under the hood everything seems fine but I don't know for sure, a collision company is going to come tow it today and tell me whats up. I'm just glad this thing didnt come through the windsheild or worse, and good thing i wasn't in a car or i'd probably be pretty messed up. The bumper and grill took the most damage i think it hit that first then its back hit my quarter panal.

I still had a little fur stuck in the rim ford ranger 1 deer 0

pics are up now haha I just hope nothing is wrong, like a bent frame etc. Judging by the looks of it it doesn't look like its too bad, The quarter panal could have been alot worse. I still can't believe I hit that thing... it was actually a pretty good sized doe

I guess all I have to pay is a $100 deductable which isn't too bad, insurance will pay for everything including towing charges etc. For sure. I'm glad its dead I didn't have a camera on me and I let some guy take it in his truck because I had no way of getting it home. Plus I was tired and too pissed and I didn't care about anything accept my truck. I snapped a pic of it with my cell phone but apparent it didn't come out it was too dark where I was. Another thing that supprised me was my air bags didn't go off. Guess I didn't hit it hard enough. I'm jsut glad I wasn't doing the speed limit which was 45 because I usually go 5 over all the time. I think i was going about 40-35 when I hit it. I'm lucky.

There isn't any airbag sensors in the sides on the truck. I think all sensors are in front bumper.. I am not sure...

I don't think the impact was hard enough to even make them deploy though. I'm glad they didn't actually I was fine. I love how they hit you like at the perfect time, its ridiculous the thing just ran right into my truck head first. I officially hate deer.

It doesn't look like it'll take much to fix your truck really. Good luck and it's good to hear you weren't hurt!

No man I couldn't I had no way of getting it home, and I didn't care I gave it to some guy who asked me if he could take it. I would have ran it over a few times if I could of moved my truck. POS deer.

Thanks guys, Yeah it shouldn't take much I just want to get it fixed, I don't like the idea of having a vehicle thats been in an accident though but I guess if its fixed properly it will be like it never happened. I can't think about anything else but my truck right now this sucks.

Why are you having it towed?

Is it undrivable?

It was drivable, I had it towed last night because the left side of the bumper was rubbing right against my tire and those are brand new tires and i didnt want it getting ruined so I had it towed. I probably would have taken the deer if I didn't have it towed.

I would have dragged it home on a rope or thrown it over my shoulders. LOL Maybe thats just because I didn't get anything this deer season.
