Question about Cooling System Pressure Tests
Will a pressure test be able to tell you if 1 of your head gaskets are blown or if you have a cracked head?
I just had 1 done due to some coolant i found dripping off the underside of the radiator on the drivers side and it held the pressure fine. I have some dye in there now and I'll take it back tomorrow to get checked out. Was going to change the radiator out myself but this was only $25 so I decided what the hell. It was in for a free tire rotation anyway. I have a feeling the way it has been running I may have a cracked head or blown gasket if by changing out my K&N and ecu chip doesn't correct my issue.
I may have spilled some coolant a few days ago and it may have sat in my skid plate and it finally dripped out yesterday.

I've found over the years that the Ranger radiators are prone to leaking where the ends are crimped on. I've had my radiator on my old 89 to the local radiator shop 3 seperate times for him to recrimp it. It finally sealed up. I did a pressure test on the 89 and it leaked a few pounds off in about 15-30 minutes. We're amatuers though so we weren't sure about the results. Although I did end up having a cracked head in the end.
Wash all of that coolant off and wait a few days and watch for new leakage..
GB :)
