xcal2 = check engine light?

two hours after i flashed my ranger with the xcal2 87mpg tune i get the check engine light, so i switch back to stock, no light, retune, no light, so i got about driving for a day and a half then i get the light again, reflashed, and no light. is is something that could happen? or a serious problem i should have checked out? i figured it was something to do with the tune so reflashing came to mind as a quick fix. just hope it' s not something bad or anything.

who programed the x-cal for you?

as in the fuel pump i never take my fuse out
that part of the instuctions is so you wont run you battery out during the down load and get screwed with only part of the program installed
the info i got is some veihicles take very large programs and upload times so they put that in the instuctions for all
our Rangers only take a couple of mins to up load and you not running all sorts of stuff,blasting the sterio or the air,you will be ok

I don't take my fuse out either. But I do turn everything off just to keep the power draw down.

the instruction paper that came with the tuner said "First disconnect the fuel pump and electric fan fuses" didn't know what the deal with that was.

as far as those codes, i may just call a friend thats a mechanic for a ford dealership and see what the deal is whith the codes, he told me that the k&n filters oil up the MAFS and lots of people bring their cars and trucks with the same problem, may just have to find a oil free filter.

I spoke with Doug personally from Bama Chips, and he told me just to ignore that, and select yes when the question pops up for the fuel pump. I've played around with the tunes probably about 20 times in the last year and haven't had any problems.

Good luck with getting past the codes.
