Today, I had to slam on brakes because some moron pulled out in front of me. My airbag light started flashing, and after a few minutes, turned solid. The code is 27 (2 flashes, pause 7 flashes). My PAD wouldn't illuminate after that either. I really don't think the light went bad right when I hit the brakes. My truck has done this before about a year ago- I got a code 27, the PAD wouldn't illuminate, adn then it came back on. What could be going on? I just don't get how slamming on the brakes caused a code 27 to appear! Thanks!

No you bastard, that thread didn't really apply to me. My airbag light came on after a hard stop, not just randomly. I was trying to figure out the connection between the two. I have a solid airbag light. It doesn't blink or anything....... when I start the truck its just solid. wut is guin on guyyyys?!?

 

Turn the key to the on position on the air bag swith LOL jk, no clue. I would be worried about any light for the airbag being on. Doesn't autozone pep-boys still offer free OBDII scans ?

I was j/king lol. I ditched my RCM completely. Its somewhere in the dump now. Don't think my airbags are ever gonna work without it lol.
