Few problems

Its not that this has me stumped. but its getting a bit annoying.

Problem 1.

Symptoms:
On a warm start, say i come home and run inside for 10 - 15 minutes to about an hour. then come out side and fire the truck up. It'll rev up high real rough, then die. it'll do this every start until i give it a bit of Gas and it will even out after a minute or so.

What i've done so far:
This started about a week or two after i put my lower intake back together. everything in that department was cleaned during the processes. IAC, Upper Intake, Throttle Body, almost all vacuum lines replaced.
The only thing i didn't really clean up was my MAF, i was going to clean that up today or tomorrow and see where that takes me. but from what i've experienced, a MAF hasn't caused this kind of problem before.

Does anyone have any idea where else i could check?

Problem number 2.

I feel like my Rear axle is making noise. its hard to describe and really hard to check because the truck has to be rolling. Its not making a super loud grinding or anything, but it sounds like something is dragging. Its hard to explain and when i try and video it, you don't hear it.

I bet there is some water in there, but i haven't got around to checking it.

so, what are the symptoms of a rear end about to explode, and should i do something about it?

Number 3.

I'm not a transmission guy. But i know that when your A4LD is starting to clunk into every gear, its getting bad. How much longer do you think this thing is going to last me?

Just a stab in the dark...

On Problem 1 you might check the fuel rail pressure and see if one of the injectors is bleeding down while it sits.

On Problems 2 take a look at this video.

On problem 3 does it clunk going into both drive and reverse from park or just while driving as the transmission is up shifting?

Thanks man!
I think it may need axle rebuild kit. do they may such a thing? Bearings and a fluid change may do it.

i'm pretty regular on using some lucas oil fuel injector cleaner, but i can for sure check the pressure. i've got a gauge around here somewhere.

the transmission clunks only going from park into reverse or drive. it shifts a bit hard from 1st to 2nd, but other than that, its ok as far as i can feel.

Yes they do make rebuild kits. Click Link

If the pinion bearing is going out, as in the video, it may account for the clunk your hearing when shifting between park and drive/reverse.
