HID Installed
Today I finally got my HID's wired up correctly. Yesterday I worked on them for at 4 hours if not more and was getting only hi-beams. I made sure all the wires were connected correctly, everything grounded, and made sure the battery and fuses were good. However after all that, I still only had high-beams. I read a post that was put up a few days ago, and that guy had the same problem as me. In the blue connector that goes to original light harness, the wires inside of it were wrong. After playing around for a bit I finally got the correct wires in the right place to mate up to the original harness correctly. I now have hi and low beams and the output is great. However know when I flip the switch to turn my lights on, I only have the HID's on not the fog lamps. However the running lights and turn signals work. Does anybody have a clue that could be causing this? Maybe a bad fuse?
But anyways I hope I have my ballasts placed in a correct place so they don't get too hot. Here are the pics. If yall wouldn't mind give me your feedback if the ballasts are placed correctly, thanks!

Yeah man those brackets are really nice and sturdy too. I used a Notto SE conversion kit. It came with a relay that took out the "blue" connector piece for the light assembly on the passenger side. They work great at low-beam setting, but hi-beams are a bit splotchy. However use my hi-beams maybe 5% of the time I have my lights on the whole week lol.
I am using a 10000K kit, and they are crazy bright. I love it.
Yeah I hope I don't have any cooling issues. The place where I the ballast is out of the way and easily accessible if something were to go wrong.
But do you have ant ideas what might be causing the HIDs to work just fine and not the fog lights?

Yeah our housings are reflective, not projective. But like I said it really doesn't bother me since it only does that in hi-beam setting. Ha no only 10K for headlights. I left the foglights stock, but now there is not light coming from them. Just the headlights and running lights. I don't have to add HIDs for the foglights too to make them work, right? I hope not, cause I ran out of money for now lol.

But of course with just factory lighting, as soon as you turn the highs on, the foglights go off. Maybe I need to play with the blue connector again. I had to play with it before to get the hi and low beams to work properly. But I would think if I was just messing with the headlights, that shouldn't cause a problem with the foglights, at least I would think so. Jeez I hate electrical stuff, it aint my fancy at all.

Alright I played with the blue connector that goes into the stock harness. I changed them around and nothing still from the foglights. So I went to the fuse box in the engine compartment. A 20 Amp fuse that goes to the DRL(Daytime Running Lights) and Foglights is just fine. However unlike the rest of the fuses, this fuse wiggles around in the female connector on the actual fuse box. I replaced the fuse and still nothing and the new fuse wiggles too. I wonder if its not getting a good connection to that fuse since it wiggles in its female housing?

No not all. Like inside the cab correct? My switch is on the right side of my radio, under the 12V power supply and there is no green light under it saying they are on like it did before I did the HID swap.
Could it be, but I don't think so, that the alternator is not powerful enough to run the HIDs and foglights at the same time? I have no charging issues to my knowledge because the truck starts up just like it always has since I got it, and the radio, blower, and all other things dash, gauges, etc all work fine.

Today it rained basically all day. Tonight I went around and drove for a while in the rain. The output these lights give off is amazing. Even in the rain, I can see at least 2-3 times better than compared to halogens. Getting some HIDs was def worth the money. Just letting yall know. Oh and just regular nights without rain, I can see 5 times better if not more. Just to anyone else wanting to get some HIDs I would recommend just getting the low beam only bulbs. The high beams and reflective type housings that Rangers have just don't work well together. To splotchy and give off more bad light than good. But low beams compared to halogens is like the difference between night and day in my opinion.

Yeah my 10ks are little more than sky blue. More like a north carolina blue on the back of somebodys car. But when shining on the road they look almost white. Weird. Oh well, I still love them though. I've already received compliments on them with just barely a week after installing. I like!
