First off I am brand new to this forum so if this is in the wrong spot please tell me where I need to repost it if it can not be moved.

I just recently bought a 94 ford ranger, 287,000 miles on it. The speedometer does not work accuratly at all so right now I am using an app on my phone the previous owner who I know replaced the speedometer cable but it still does not work right. I wondered what could possibly be wrong and where I should be looking.

I'm pretty car stupid so please be descriptive.

Second I have an oil leak somewhere, I believed it was the oil pan gasket but the leak seems to be coming more drastically from somewhere higher up on the right hand side if the hood is popped and your looking at the window. Someone had mentioned the oil valve gasket or the gasket near the oil sending unit. But again I'm car dumb and don't even know where those are to look. I have to add oil about every 3 gas tank fill ups.

On a side not if anyone knows where I can get a new middle seat back for the bench seat on my 2 door xlt ranger that would be awesome. The old one broke long before I got it. This truck was drove off the line 4 owners ago and has been in one family line until I bought it.

I appreciate the help I do not have the money to pay a mechanic for it and I would like to learn to do things myself because its cheaper.
