OHC Question

Hey everyone I have another ohc wiring question. Yes I did search but did not find everything i needed. I think i have most of it figured out, but have a few questions. I have an '05 btw. Just wondering if yall could check my wiring.

Black - Ground - I understand this

Yellow/Gray - Black and Pink @ Radio - confirmed I have this wire
Blue/Red - Blue and Red @ Radio - confirmed

Green/Orange - Lt Green and Orange @ dimmer - confirmed
Black/Blue - Dome light wire? - i only have one wire at the dome light

Lt Blue/White - Temp Sensor - i understand this
LtBlue/Yellow - Temp Sensor - i understand this

Gray/Black - It says it goes to the Gray/Black @ the SJB on the brown connector. I don't have this wire but I read that it comes through the firewall on '05 and up models, and was changed after the '04 overhaul. Well I looked in the drivers side footwell, and there was a lot of wires coming through the firewall as described, and I saw a gray and black wire. Could this be the one that I splice into?

Once I get around to getting a console with the harness and temp sensor, i'll put it in and possibly add another how to for the '04 and up guys and if the gray and black wire I saw is correct for the '05 i'll add that too. Thanks for the help.

Where are you geting this info from? The 04s are a little different

There are a few differences for 2004+:

Console Power (Explorer Yellow/Gray at console)-
2003-back Ranger: Yellow/Black at radio harness
2004-on Ranger: Black/Pink at radio harness

Speed Sensor Input (Explorer Gray/Black at console)-
2003-back Ranger: Gray/Black at GEM
2004-on Ranger: Gray/Black at Smart Junction Box (brown connector)

Map Light Power (Explorer Lt. Green/Orange at console)-
2003-back Ranger: Lt. Green/Orange at dome light
2004-on Ranger: Lt. Green/Orange at dimmer module

I got this from the cardomain instructions, but while searching I found that in 2005 they no longer had the gray-black wire in the SJB, and that it went to behind the guages and that it needs to be spliced where it comes throught the firewall.

And for the domelight I only have one wire. Do I splice the Black/Blue from the console to this?

Thanks

BTW I got some info in this thread by STL, the info was posted by rwenzing - https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ght=ohc+wiring

The wire circled in green is the gray and black wire. Could this be the one I'm looking for?

Alright thanks stl, that's what I was thinking it would be. Did you wire the black and blue wire to the one wire at the dome light? I only have one wire there.
