Icon5 Adjusting the speedometer for larger tires?
Has anyone been abke to adjust thier speedometer to accommodate for larger tires? If so how did you do it? I recently got a ticket for going 78 in a 60 so i want to get my speedo fixed asap.

what size tires are you running?

and the only way to do it is buy a tuner and program the correct tire size in it.

You can fix it with a tuner. And i think i remember seeing a stand alone thing but i cant remember the name.

ford can do it for you too. i think its like $50 for them to do it but you might as well put that money towards a tuner

Or you can just remember the speed difference

That's what I have to do in my 77, with 33" tires my speedometer is 9 mph off. I just have to remember it, although correcting it is much simpler

only up to a 31" though and if hes 18 off i bet thats not what he has haha

Bro you went 78 in a 60, no speedometer fix other than less gas pedal will fix that. Just always know in your head you're going 5ish mph faster than your speedometer reads.

mine's off by alot more than that...I'm going 80 when my speedo reads 65.

my local stealership told me it would be like $300-something to recalibrate my speedo. those ******* a-holes

the stealership told me the biggest they can flash is ~285

haha since posting this thread i have just gotten used to my speedo being off by 5 mph. When i drive other peoples cars I'm always going 5mph to slow... loooool
