My problems never end
Well here is another post in more detail on my truck issues-
Well I had to have my brake replaced, when they wnet out the other day. The thing is the brakes were only 15,000 miles old?
So I took the truck to fleet farm, and once i got it back, the front end shakes when I brake medium pressure in a straight line going 30-40 MPH
Here is what they did,
+ installed front brakes
+installed rear brakes
+Cut Rotors in front
+Installed rear cylinder
+Bleed Brakes
My front tires are showing choppy wear on the inside---15,000 miles on them
Sujested supension check and alignment
What could be the problem my truck is sagging a little on the drivers side
Thanks for the help....I just want this all to be over before i go hunting on spring break

it does look off, the bars have not been cranked.
My problem is when i go back to fleet farm i know they will deny it, if it the rotors and try to tell me it something else.
I think ill have the brakes checked for $15 at sears and see what they say for i have some proof that they are warped or not, and then get the tires rotated and an alignment.
If they are warped, do you think fleet farm should do something about it, since they were the ones that machined them??

if they are warped and you can prove it, then they will have to at least give you your money back for cutting the rotors. you can also push for new brake pads as well considering you should replace the pads any time you replace and/or cut the rotors.

the pads should be fine. its not like you have to change the pads when you cut/replace rotors. the reason for it is the (old or un-cut) rotors may have worn a certain way. the pads wear to match. so if you replace/cut the rotors the old pads will make the new/cut rotors wear the same. it wont warp them it may jus put a groove in the new/cut rotors.
its not a bad thing either but you want your rotors to have a smooth and flat surface

I hope there is nothing wrong with the brakes, because i hate trying to get people admit they were wrong, It wont be an easy task for me to get fleet farm to replace the rotors minus the 30 it cost me to have them machined. i wounder it a civil suit threat would work for a whopping $30 hahha

if you can prove the rotors are warped and they wont agree on a reasonable arangment to have the work corrected, than call the cops. you brought your truck in to be fixed and left with a problem that should not exsist if the work was done right.
hold your ground... if your right than they really cant argue when push comes to shove.

You can machine warped rotors. As long as when you are done they are within the minimum machining spec., there is nothing wrong with doing it that way. They possibly could not have cleaned the mounting surface of the rotor before they put it on the machine. If there was dirt on it now the rotor surface and the mounting flange are not parallel to each other. This would cause a vibration. It is all in how good the lathe was set up and everything was cleaned before cutting.

they are stupid easy!!!
steps:
1. Jack up vehicle
2. Remove tire
3. Remove caliper and pads (2bolts on the back side. top and bottom)
4. Remove caliper bracket(2 bolts on the back side. top and bottom)
5. Pull old rotor off. Replace with new rotor
6. Install caliper bracket
7. Install new pads
8. Compress caliper piston. (new pads are thicker.)
9. Install caliper
10. Install tire
11. Lower vehicle
12. Pump brakes with the engine on.
