2004 + clusters

Hey guys,

Please don't get mad at me for asking this question ... just to let you know, I did use the search button before I started this thread ... lol
I'm 99.99% sure that the mileage on the 2004 + clusters is stored in the computer aka PCM but I just want to be 100% sure of this before I sell or trade mine.

Thanks,

Brian

You didn't search the right threads :)

I just searched for this yesterday, and I found in one thread where someone ( Bob I think?) said that you cannot swap the clusters in w/o swapping in all the crap in the back or the computer won't recognize the new cluster and it won't work.

this is what i thought as well, but have been told that you can swap clusters with no problems. so i'm not sure. i would trust bob over most though.

Well, I guess there's only one way to find out ... I'll just take my manual cluster out tomorrow and hook up the automatic cluster and see if it'll work.

I would think you would have issues with the PRND21, but if you're only concern is the mileage... then I'm not sure. I found the thread, it was Jp7, the LED guy that said the mileage part isn't a direct swap cuz it's programmed to your PCM. Good luck tho, let us know how it works out for ya.

Yeah, My only concern is the mileage. I'm not going to put it into gear and drive it.
I'll let ya know what happens though (Wish me Luck)
