is this a multifunction switch problem/

lately my hazards will randomly not work....and sometimes my turns signals wont either. sometimes my turn signals will work, but my hazards wont.

i checked the fuses, their fine....so im wondering if the multifunction switch is shot?

i also just had the dealer fix up my trailer harness.....since apparently that was all messed up. and actually this didnt start happening until after that happened. also, the turn signals/hazards will not work on a trailer....

wtf/

the hazard switch may be ****ed up, on my 93 if you use the 4-ways you have to wiggle the button or the turn signals won't work

Yes it sounds like the multifunction switch. All turn signals and brake light functions run through that switch so its prolly on its way out. Replace it before it starts smoking like mine did.

so after ordering the switch online, i took my column apart.....and the switch is fine. its the wiring harness that plugs into it thats screwed up. the clip on top is missing, and it was being held on loosely with electrical tape

is this connector something i can get from the ford dealer and replace? or at least buy one and glue the clip from it on the old connector?

any thoughts?

It has nothing to do with the headlights. Wrong plug.

Is the plug that goes in the multifunction switch loose ? Even without the clip to hold it on they tend to plug together tight enough to not come apart or lose contact.

yea its the one that goes into the multifunction switch

and apparently its loose enough to come out, because thats what it did

i guess i could always just plug it back in everytime it does this, but what a pain
