Rear axle shaft lengths needed (8.8")

I am about to change out my rear axle seals. My drum brake adjuster cable snapped and took out the seal (doh!).

I want to know if I can do this surgery in my garage, or will I do it in the driveway. As in: will I have enough room on each side of the truck to pull the shafts out of the axle...as I only have a 1 car-wide garage.

Does anyone have any axles lying around they can measure for me. Total length of axle tip to tip (both axles please).

Jeff's Bronco Boneyard website lists axle shaft lengths. The shorter one is at least 26" IIRC.
