Icon5 Fog Light Harness

I'm wireing up factory fog lights in a friends Ranger. Its an 04 without factory fogs. I pulled the radio bezel off and noticed the fog light harness plug for the switch. Were does this harness go, Im trying not to rewire this whole entire system if i can help it.

Thanks

you answered your own question, that plug plugs into the back of a OEM headlight switch, which is not present on that Ranger's bezel. You just need to get a bezel (either ranger or explorer) with the foglight switch already in it.

The other end should go to the Relay Panel under the hood.
Will the wiring be there for the actual lights I do not know but once you locate the Relay position you should be able to determine pin 87 on the relay socket, that wire should go to the lights.

Just watch out for the wattage of the aftermarket Fog Lights.
35 watts per light max.
Ford run minimum gauge wire for all application and anything over 35 watts/light will/may overheat the wires.

if the lights are larger, say 55 + watts each then consider running new wires for both pins 30 (from the battery) and 87 (load to the lights).

I added fogs to my truck... only about 3 YEARS after wiring in my fogs and putting in a switch and stuff, did I notice the plug behind the bezel.... LOL

there is NO harness for the lights on the fron of an 04.

also, you can safely run 55watters... thats what I have in mine... though i ran my fogs using predominently extension cord 14awg... all the way down to the connectors... wihch the connectors are using like 18ga wire...

Dad suggested an automatic resetting circuit breaker for the fogs... wether that was a good idea or not i dunno... but i havent had a problem in 6 years.

I did the same thing. I had to run two wires from the plug in the cab down to the electrical box if I remember right. I have a factory Ford relay in the correct Fog light location. It looks it came that way from the factory.
