Bah.. dont listen to them... here's what you do. Take the plugs out of the side of the steering wheel, un bolt the bolts, pull the air bag out and un plug it.

if you handle it properly and do it right, its not going to go off, its like holding a gun, doesnt mean its going to shoot someone, you are just holding it
ive taken off my airbag before to do the CruiseControl LED mod, and i know many others have, so just make sure you do it right, and handle it carefully, if you let the truck sit long enought without a battery and the power is drained (try using the radio or something) it should mean the airbag has no power, and it needs power to set it off
