94 Manual Speedometer Cable?

I've got a 94 Ranger and my speedometer, when it gets up to about 50+, it starts shaking and I hear this noise coming from my steering column. Now, I've researched a bit about this year and whether or not it has a manual cable, or a VSS. Can anyone help me out on this, and if it is a manual cable, is there anyway to tighten it at all, or do I have to just replace it.

Btw, 159,000 Miles on it, if that matters.

94 has both - an ordinary cable to drive the speedometer/odometer and a VSS signal generator to provide vehicle speed info to the PCM and speed control.

There is no adjustment. You could try lubing the inner cable but, at 159k, it may just be time for a new one. If you do choose to lube the cable, don't overdo it.
