Mass Air Flow problem, little help please...

Check engine light came on right after throwing a MAC cold air intake on, and I put some pulleys and efan on last week.

I figured it was a intake sensor, and it was, code read P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input.

Whats the problem? I'm thinkin mabye too much air coming in tripping the MAF sensor, or or I tweeked the other sensor (guessing a temp sensor or something) somehow, mabye turned it the wrong way, I don't know.

Any suggestions would be great, I just don't want to ride that CHECK ENGINE light for long in case something else is wrong, cause I wont know till it could be too late and checking every day just sucks.........

Thanks

The IAT sensor (intake air temperature) is omni directional, so it can't be put in "backwards". The MAF however, need to be in the correct orientation. The wire connector should face the rear of the truck.

Also check your wiring connections. Maybe get a can of electric parts cleaner and spray the tiny contacts inside the opening of the MAF and IAT.

I was thinking that it might be one direction only for the IAT sensor, I'll flip that and see what happens.........

It's not the IAT. You probably have a damaged MAF, or disconnected as Bryce mentioned. I did that myself once after a MAF mod, lol.

HEY FMD<>You cut the bar out under the MAF actual sensor in inside the pipe so the air isn't broken up when being sucked in.

I reconnected the MAF for sure but I don't understand how I could have damaged the MAF, I was mad careful, cause I know how easy they can get messed up. Should I hit it up with some electrical cleaner spray and see how that goes? Spray the connections to after I unplug them? So is the IAT sensor a one way or not and if so which way does the clip on the sensor conection face so that I can get that facing the right way?

Uhh....... So I decided to double check the connections and spin the IAT for another stab in the dark with direction and the MAF connectin slid on a little more and snapped in, so it could have been it wasn't on all the way......... I know, I'm a total !!

Should work hopefully, I'll let you know if it doesn't......

That was it, the MAF connector wasn't snug, I think I just put it on a little when I was tightening everything down in case I needed to pop it off again, and then forgot to finish putting it on.

Thanks
