Air Conditioning Question

This is not on my Ranger but on my 5.0 liter Capri. If the AC compressor is cycling rather quickly does that mean it needs to be just some freon added or is it completely empty and needs a complete recharge.

Thanks

George

Really need to put some gauges on it to tell. Most systems wont engage the compressor if the pressure is too low. So likely it has some refrigerant in it. How much it needs is determined by the running pressures.

It's low, but not empty. Can't tell you much more than that.
