Explorer and Chevy help
Ok so I am gonna be getting rid of the F150 to go back to school and had some questions about vehicles.
Explorers
Anything I should know about the 4.0L or the 5.0L? I have been looking at 01-04's. Two different body styles but what are the known issues to look for in those? And anything else?
Chevy
I know I know flame away. But I have also been looking at the Yukon's and the suburbans. Does anyone have any good info on those? Been looking at 98-04 on those as well.
Hope those aren't too noob of questions.
Oh and I'm also looking at rangers but I know a little bit about those. lol

The sohc expos have the same reliably as the rangers. Get a new body style expo, good on gas better than rangers and I haven't seen any with problems besides normal wear and tear. The yukon is a 6.0 I think and the burbans are 5.3 and or 6.0 the olders are 350 5.7. Either way terrible on gas. It all depends what you are using it for. If you have kids and a wife and travel a lot get the GM (gay man) truck. If you using it for a to b transportation and hauling a few people get the ford

2002-2004 Expos are nightmares.
Transmission and rear end problems out the a$$.
Stay away. For the love of god.
As far as Chevy the Trailblazers are nice.
Stay away from any Dexcool running models. The 5.7L and 4.3L in the Blazers and Tahoe/Suburbans go through intake manifold gaskets. Then leak coolant into your oil and eat your engine. It only takes about a month after gasket failure. Not sure what year they switched off it.

yukon same years 4.8 and 5.3. if it was a denali it had the 6.0
suburban/yukon xl half tons had the 5.3. denali had 6.0
2500 suburban/yukon xl had the 6.0
gas mileage is alright. we have a 05 yukon xl 5.3 but it has 4:10s so the gas mileage is sub par. more comfy then an explorer for sure tho.
